Faith

Faith

A Story by anya
"

Faith is something everyone has-but did you know she was a person?

"
The Girl would end her life in 10 minutes. Faith could do nothing, she had to be believed in- and the girl already gave up. Faith tried screaming and yelling, giving reasons, giving Hope, which was her sister, yet nothing. Faith had failed. Faith was used to people giving up by now. So when the girl- Eva- killed herself, Faith fell to her knees. No, she thought. She had no more help. Her Magic Parents are already in Magic H, the heaven for people who give Faith and Hope. Faith and her sisters, Hope and Guidance, had been the only children to be named after their job. Guidance was the smartest and oldest, Hope was the darkest and happiest, while Faith was...well, whatever people wanted Faith to be. Eva was lying on the ground, while the LAPD swarmed everywhere, picking up evidence, which included her suicide note. A police officer, Grace, as Faith learned, was in the back smirking. Was it funny that Eva killed herself, or suicide was a joke? Faith couldn't figure it out.
'So', Grace pouted, 'another suicide case? What's going on Los Angles?' Faith wanted to tell her so bad that it was her, the problem, but she could only talk to people who needed faith, who needed her. Grace looked up right to where Faith was standing. She could not see her, but Faith felt like she could.
'Do you believe in magic, Waldo?', Grace asked a man with blonde hair and skinny legs. Waldo shook his head and headed out of Eva's room. Grace was still staring at Faith, and started to walk over when Hope and Guidance, Faith's sisters, grabbed her arms.
'By the power in me', Guidance shouted, 'you cannot see Faith!' Grace looked around and walked in a straight line. How could she see Faith?
'Fay, are you good?', Hope asked happily. For hope, she was one wacky and crazy thing.
'Yeah. Eva just died. Great. How do you think Mortis is going to act, G? Is he even happy with me? Does all of MHLA know?', Faith asked curious. It took Guidance a moment, but she responded.
'He already hates you. And no, all of Magic Heaven Los Angles doesn't know, Fay.'
Faith grabbed her name book. She looked at her next name;

Scott
Evelyn
Jake
Eva
Grace
Faith jumped back. Her sisters nodded and looked at Grace. They already knew. And what was more annoying, was Faith knew why Mortis picked Grace. He wanted to test her.

The first para felt disconnected and glazed over in a hurry. I once read, if a reader reads a conflicting word once, he takes it as a mistake, if he reads it again, he considers it to be placed deliberately and if he reads it for the third time the reader for sure understands the writer wants the reader to know this was deliberate. if the reader catches the word again, he gets annoyed and curses at the writer, "This Fool"

The story is very well written, in my opinion it is simple and moral binded enough to be a good children's story. A horrifying children story. I hope you write more on this topic. Thanks for sharing
