In Her Distorted Mirror Image

In Her Distorted Mirror Image

A Poem by LynnTashio
"

In the deep dark recesses of the world, Hatred and anger reign supreme. Where cruelty is known and hope is just beyond the clear glassy surface of their world.

"

Bloody fingers scratch against the surface of the world,

Their silent pleas for help and guidance go unheard.
The cruel Iron hand beats them back into submission.
The clear glass surface reflects no flicker of hope.

Their silent cries grow weaker with each passing day.
The cruel Iron hand silences them with force,
He has chained them to his home and bed
But one day, they know, justice will come for them.

The glassy world reflects only what it sees,
Her passing days leave marks upon their skin.
Her neglect is what they see and know,
But how much longer can the world ignore her own?

Author's Note

I know the genre says horror, when you read it you'll understand. It's not an "OMFG, he's like, going to kill me!" type of horror. The horror in t his piece is the realization the reader gets when he/she is finished. The realization that people do indeed live this way, and people do turn a blind eye and a cold shoulder to their cries for help.
