Pegged

A poem for u-not a two word haiku but I may be getting better. I awoke and it came to me-improvising.L

Square ~round ~square ~round

Pegged in a position I did not choose

Invisible walls surround me

Walls that separate who I am and who you believe me to be

Square ~round ~square ~round

Age, beauty, success and fame

Limits that enclose and separate

Stereotyped ideas of what you believe of me, not of who I am

Square ~round ~square ~round

Eyes open to the minds soul

Limits scatter, walls crack, ideas dissolve~ into

Who I am and what you find me to be

I love this. A very complex sentiment spoken cleanly.

We are all constantly evolving and changing. Really loving someone can be about getting to know them anew at every turn. Every soul is full of surprises. Even dark gifts are worthy ones.

It is very hard to see clearly. I'm ever struggling to tear away my blinders.
