I Do

I Do

A Poem by Lyndsay Castro
"

What happens after the rice is thrown.

"

You never say you're sorry

No matter that I cry.

You say it's me who's faulty

It's me who doesn't try.

You tell me I'm your object

Equal to a child.

But even they have voices

Although often denied.

You never say you're sorry

You can't be in the wrong.

Is it because you're failing

And want to seem so strong?

You say I am so tiny

That you're the only truth.

But at least I am trying

You just won't see the proof.

This is a sad testimony to the end of a relationship. It's funny, in the beginning the flowers are bright red and booming with passion of the 4th of July. The clock hands turn and you look and the flowers have died and you don't recognize yourself. The mirror never lies even when we try to deny, but breathe for you know you will walk into something more.

Lovely poem.

Wow this is going to sound really wierd but this totaly expresses how my Dad treats me!
I'm starting to feel as if we know each other from a past life (not that there is such thing but if there was)

Straightforward and heartfelt. Hope you are now in this kind of relationship now :).
Thank you for your kind words~ And I really like the rhyme scheme of this.

I loved it.
You really have a gift.
I saw it, in my mind...like a movie, it just played itself out.
Beatiful poem

A very biting look at life after the fancy wedding. I that you presented this in a strict form with good rhyme. It really added to the controlled anger expressed here.

It's upsetting that stuff like this happens, but it is a fact some people have to face. I find marriage to be a terrible nuisance. I find relationships as a whole to be a terrible nuisance. But I digress. Good write.
