Friend

Friend

A Poem by LylaCrystal

You don't have to explain anything,
I already know the truth
About your games,
About your lies.
About everything.

I was your 'friend'
Only when you needed help,
Only when you were sad,
Only when it was about you.
What about me?

Have you ever thought about
How my soul was?
How many worries I had?
How hard I was trying to
Be the ideal friend for you?

I was afraid of your criticism.
I wanted everything to be perfect,
Even if I was close to losing myself.
It seemed like my efforts
Were in vain.

You don't have to explain.
I already know the truth
About your games,
About your lies,
About everything.

I decided to go on a separate way,
Trust me, I don't hate you.
You came in my life as a lesson.
I learned that I mustn't stay
Near someone who uses me as a 'tool'.

It's not wasting myself,
So now, I hope you learned your lesson, too.
It is said that
"Thing were created to be used,
Not people".

You don't have to explain.
I already know the truth
About everything.
I won't stay where I'm not needed
For my true self.

Farewell, my 'friend'.
