I regretA Poem by LykosI am, I wish, I regret, I look.
I am complex, a mess and a lot of defects,
I am blind, ill-timed, with a scattered mind. I am alone, an unknown, on top of a lonely throne, I am night, no light, that glow is never in sight. I wish a glance, one chance, maybe a dance, I wish nineteen, then seen, wearing t-shirt green. I wish a touch, a brush, maybe a tight clutch, I wish a smile, your smile a while, to mind file. I regret that pause, inner claws, nervous applause. I regret turning away, losing a day, the price I pay. I regret seeing you go, too slow, afraid to show, I regret the loss, now across, with graveyard moss. I look but never find, an extinct design, your kind. I look out at sea, your place to be, there you felt free. I look at my time, a little prime, but now a solo climb, I look with tears, my life with you in the rear, alone for so many years. . © 2025 Lykos |
