The Inner child's way

The Inner child's way

A Poem by Lykos

It was once all sunshine, all so bright,
But then someone came and dimmed the light.
The fire in me that had burned deep inside,
Reduced to a spark one that I had to hide.

Flickers of that spark showed some days,
But like clouds to the sun, faded the rays.
The spark would grow small and very silent,
Hidden away and kept in confinement .

Made to go through life, calm and quietly,
But inside an urge to escape, away from the shackles of society.
I know I have my crowd and I'm not like the rest,
When I've broken free, I'll shine to be the best.

Too long they put me on the wrong path,
I will go my own way, if I'm stopped they will feel my wrath.
Too long I've been made to feel small,
No longer, I'll answer my inner childs call.
