Exiting darknessA Poem by LykosTo have hope is what keeps us moving
Your head is upside down with all your fears,
And your cheeks feel the bitter sting of painful tears. Emotions race through you like a bullet train, And you stand outside where tears can't be seen under a showery rain. You try and look ahead but there's just a wall, Any chance to get around it, the deeper you fall. People have ups and downs, but me there's no up, I feel like in my situation I'm in concrete, in place I'm stuck. I thought I would be drowning forever in an endless night, But in my darkness I saw a glimmer of light. A hand reached down and pulled me out of the hole I was in, Something I never saw, I never thought I would win. A sunrise lit up my life and expelled all the dark, And that sadness in me, completely disappeared without leaving a mark. The struggle and pain is a distant memory with hardly any trace, I wake up now and an almost constant smile is etched on my face. © 2024 LykosReviews
