Faded away

Faded away

A Poem by Lykos

There's that smile that always lit up the room,
When we would say goodbye it always felt too soon.
Your energy would always electrify my soul,
And what you brought to the table, made me feel whole.

I watched you fight, then I saw the wings grow,
Your energy was fading and out of you the light flowed.
I felt the tears as they started to trickle down my face,
I could sense your soul being pulled to that other magical place.

"Don't cry for me, try not to be sad,
This isn't my end, death has more to add.
I see there's a life waiting on the other side,
Where I'll meet everyone from my life who before me died"

You gave me one last smile, then completely faded away,
I really wished I had one more meaningful day.
I wonder about you constantly as I gaze up towards the sky,
When will I grow my wings and upto you fly.

Although it makes my soul cry, this is a wonderful poem. But even so, this was written with a lot of hope and heart, and a gnosis that everything falls back into place, at the right time. Perhaps it's a bold claim to say I know our loved ones who passed wait for us, but I truly am convicted in this belief. I feel our loved ones give us signs that they're alright. We just have to pay attention to them. More often than not, they're subtle.

Whatever your future may hold, may it be just and may it favor you, friend. Best wishes.

The sentence of "This isn't my end, death has more to add." is a beautiful representation of the concept of the afterlife that await the person saying it.

I don't really want to say too much, just that I feel you and that you've articulated something I feel is ignored until it's too late to often.

Every parent should hope to be taken like this. You're a good person.

The death of one close is always painful. The subject of this one, however, had faith. I am sure it was not misplaced.
