![]() StaringA Poem by Lykos![]() Behind the curtains.![]()
Silence rained down in front of me as I sat there staring at him. I looked him dead in those eyes, eyes filled with emotion. There was a burst of fire that burned from anger, a single undropped tear that was as powerful as a tsunami from the pain that was steeped in it and finally the eyes had a hint of the fear of loss, from those already lost and the ones that he fears he has still to lose. His eyes told a thousand stories from his past, all I had to do was look closely and it was like a movie played on a screen to me. Happiness, pain, sorrow, joy, rage, the emotions that were embedded in his soul and they travelled to his eyes and swirled and intertwined together for those of us who could see them. He never made a sound, he didn't so much as move his lips. He knew I could see through him, I could see his eyes and his tormented soul that fed them. He never broke my gaze, he took blinks with long breaks in between that would strain his eyes. He wanted me to see clearly and not miss a thing and I saw everything I needed to. No curtains hid what others could not see for me, I had them pulled back and my gaze was fixed and my sight was clear. I saw and what I saw was myself as I looked into the mirror and I saw my emotion filled soul staring back at me.
