Waiting

Waiting

A Poem by Lykos
"

Waiting

"
The waiting causes you so much stress,
And the eerie silence, rings of loneliness.
Standing alone silently, cold as the night winds,
The sting you feel, like a million pressing steel pins.

You can't let go, the feeling you cannot hide,
It bubbles up, pours out from your mind.
You can't sit still, the urge is to great,
You'd run to me because you cannot wait.

You cannot see it, you keep asking how,
But I can see it, even if you don't now.
You have it wrong because of your doubt,
You cannot see what it is truly all about.

You cry more tears than a waterfall,
Because all you want is for me to call.
You feel like your aboard the lonely train,
Because all you can feel is your heart pain.

Tears amount to that of a rain cloud,
And surrounds you like a funeral shroud.
You try to run, but you'll never be that fast
But this loneliness won't forever last.

The light shines bright up from the dawn,
You just have to wait and carry on.
Into the future I cannot peer,
But one day soon, again I shall appear.

A truly beautiful poem Lykos. The emotions and feelings you conveyed in this poem felt so personal yet so real. I've recently (and unfortunately) experienced grief in my life and could associate with this in so many ways. Truly great work. A beautiful descriptive read.
