I go

I go

A Poem by Lykos
"

A path we must all take

"
They ask where do I go
My path they do not know
But I see it clear as day
He is waiting I'm his prey.

I was once scared of my future
I have had to humour that I was the loser.
My destiny has been laid out
This is my fate, I cannot dismount

But I fear, I will soon be forgotten
To long my heart has been rotten.
I look for someone to ease my pain
But no, I'm in a mind domain

I am a sickness to happiness
Like cancer to cartilage
My soul feels like it fading
Maintaining my grip is waning

My time has come, I do not fear
I've felt it creep up, my end is near
There is no stopping it now
Continuation on this path I must allow.

At 30, the bells will move and will ring
To sound out, cut was my life string
With death I pass through time
To another place most divine

Maintaining my grip is waning... Slick stuff, mate... Slides past like unhappy cartilage pops and snaps... Clearly penned...

okay okay...
The acceptance of nearing death is clear in the piece. That for whatever reason the narrator has come to terms with what is going to happen and welcomes the passing into the next life/heaven.

Described it perfectly. Thanks for the review. Much appreciated.
It seems like a person once fearful of the darkness and of death/the end. But has grown to accept all that he is and will become. Was good, thanks for sharing!
