Whispers

Whispers

A Poem by Lykos

Designed by the mind
Both good and unkind
It flies through the air
It's powerful I swear

Invisible to the eye
Never in short supply
Around you it goes
Burrows through your clothes

Until it seeps deep within
Now the trouble will begin
You can hear it behind your eyes
You wonder if it is lies

But maybe it's a fact
Can you handle the impact
No longer needs to be said
You see it clearly in your head

It’s never smart to take it to heart
Best let it wash over you
Don't let it become an issue

Free yourself from its hold
Otherwise you'll explode
