dawn-lessA Poem by Lydia Blackwellthis was written last fallSometimes the days match the nights- greyness lingers like a lost love. Pouring out of the sky, it fills in all the feelings. The dull ground begins to shine- it's colors deeper, slick and cold. leaves litter a quilt of debris then curl to hold the rain. But sometimes a new day does not dawn. It sleeps in seclusion behind a curtain of clouds nursing the ache of old days that should not have been. So I toss and turn and wonder when to wake. And my dreams pass like strangers behind the glass that not even I can touch. © 2010 Lydia BlackwellReviews
