let go

let go

A Poem by Lydia Blackwell

this one was written last fall

Let go

your golden hands

let go

your yellow sleeves

consecrate the morning

leave me

with darkened limbs

leave me

with empty arms

Autumn is for mourning

Oh Bronze wall of sunshine-

carpet of gold below

gentle winds precipitate

the fall of copper snow~

This is the best, how'd you think of this? well. hmmm. I'm speechless.
Autumn totally isn't for mourning, but it sounds great. So keep it up.
Good poems make me want to quit writing. do you get that? I do.

I was looking back over my collection and this is still one of my favorites. There are so many double meanings here, that sometimes I still find ones that I hadn't intended.

I have been writing since I was a young girl. I love to write because when I describe something in detail, it helps me remember the way things looked and felt. Sometimes, your memories are all that yo.. more..
