Intriguing poetic psychoanalysis, the yin and yang, smile or frown but which will win the day??The positive side of us wants to smile though indeed. the more of life and this world we observe, cynicism tends to encraoch which may lead to a rather caustic frown, but yes, ' it's a winner-take-all match?
Inspiring and also quite the enlighteneing accompanying ' soul curry art ' pic adding gravitas to the poem's mystic!!!

Oddly enough, I do rather find smiles and frowns living together now and again - well, a frown, then a smile, then back to the frown. Possibly something that poets find themselves doing, because ideas and thoughts are scrambling and dancing in their brains.
oh man .. the battle of absolutes .. sheesh! it simply must be the smile the victor my friend .. for i am the eternal optimist .. powerful emotive minimal poem .. speaks volumes

I am pulling for the smile...there are enough frowns in this world right now to last 10 lifetimes. We need more smiles and if one of those smiles is as pretty as yours....no frown would stand a chance.

Awwww, Will...that is such a sweet review. I appreciate it. thank you. Lydi**
Well Lydi, as we age, there is far more to frown about. Mobility issues, the loudness of people, and the small problem of living in a time when the now and recent past seem determined to deliver us to hell in a handbasket.. But it all depends on perspective I think, as the older we get, we slow our roll a bit more, which gives us time to enjoy the scenery and notice the ever fewer passing smiles on others faces. We should take the chance and add to those smiles and be grateful that we are no longer young enough.... to comprehend that the young will be left picking up the tab for it all at the end of the night.
So grab another drink and enjoy the free bar while you can, in the knowledge that it will also be the young that suffer the hangover from it. 😊

As we age, the frown begins winning the match...the frown lines get etched deeper. But that need not be. With a bit of effort, a smile can prevail. I loved your comparison of the two and the description of their cage duel. The artwork is instantly cheerful. Another beautiful poem, dear Lydi. Keep smiling always.

With reviews like this, I absolutely DO smile, Divya. thank you so much. Lydi**
Oh Lydi.. finely written words, of course but seems there are queries if not battles passing by too often in your day to day. There are times when there is too much smiling or too many frowns yet.. remedies are on hand, simple as they are: if you look at the stars at night or/and the clouds during the day.. life lifts the corner of your mouth, dear friend. Take care, keep in touch, please..

'Strange' is the facade for emotional strength, (Lydi).
