![]() illusionA Poem by Lydia Shutterartwork by kelsey howard i think i always knew from the moment my blue eyes opened on that summer morn i knew you would be “the one” for at least a little while you fed me words through music told me i was strong a bit self-serving, n’est pas? we closed the sliding door to the past allowing the sea air to be our aphrodisiac the ocean spoke to me perhaps a siren’s song? to me you were an unmoored boat i thought i could be your anchor the seabreeze told me differently lies became truths truths were inconsequential but i believed it all and until this day a small part of me still does
