alliteration flirtation

alliteration flirtation

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

artwork by liliane danino
life has slithered sideways
slipping on its steamy slimy underbelly
skipping skillfully through the shadows
           that’s why
this dizzy and diverse ditzy dame
decides to dabble devotedly
in a daily dose of whimsical words

Featured Review

Your poem is a playful and whimsical exploration of the twists and turns of life, and the ways in which we navigate its challenges and joys. The use of alliteration, such as "slipping on its steamy slimy underbelly," creates a sense of both movement and texture, while the imagery of "skipping skillfully through the shadows" adds a touch of lightness and grace. Your words convey a sense of both humor and resilience, and the final lines, "this dizzy and diverse ditzy dame / decides to dabble devotedly / in a daily dose of whimsical words," are both charming and inspiring. Your poem is a testament to the power of language to lift our spirits and to help us find our way in the world.

I LOVE this Lydi! But then again...I love all your writings. (I do not seem able of posting a new poem on this site. Here is what I wrote to my friends today...(This may be my last post on this site. I've tried many times to post a new poem without success. That caPatcha thing just keeps circling and will not post my new poem. I've tried to get in touch with whoever runs or owns this site without success either. I am very sad and upset. ~Sharon

"a daily dose of whimsical words"

That sounds like the most delightful, soul fulfilling thing one could take up. I loved this poem with it's delightful alliteration, amazing imagery and the dizzy and diverse ditzy dame who has a soul full of poetry. Ditzy is my truly, most favorite word. Kudos dear Lydi!

If you can laugh at yourself and live stress free, a sort of light hearted approach, life is just so much smoother and happier. Great painting too as well as the write.

The image is a great choice for the poem and perfectly represents the content within. This is a fun and self-deprecating write written with the humor of a very confident woman. Well done.

This was fun and ditsy? Well, in my opinion life should be fun and if ditzy helps add to the fun they ditzy it is. Actually, ditzy is a pretty cool word if you think about it. But then again so is your poem, it is fun, it is creative and it is very cool...just like the dame who wrote it. : )
