I wonder which came first, your choice of illustration or your words - they make make such a wonderful couple, each a compliment to the other, Lydi. As to your radiant words, they take me where i long to be, even though not far.. to the freedom of avast sea or ocean stretching out as a reflection of the heavens.. Such beautiful words, giving so generously yet gently. Thank you - nor only 'happy clouds'but Happiness.

I'm so glad we have seas, oceans, to navigate, explore, enjoy, feel the connection, smell the breezes, enjoy their bounties, listen to the music of the waves.
A beautiful poem with a gorgeous painting.

the washing away in water and salt ... a purification and cleansing all need regularly says i! the ebb makes way for the fresh and new .. love this poem Lydi! love the sea, the thought and the art .. a bit different choice there ... lots of motion and find the hues of blues and greens soothing and appealing at the same time

this is so beautiful....reminds me of when Barbara and I visited Salem, MA. and the oldest park in the country. Right on the shore of the ocean, and the house there with the second floor lookout where wives and girlfriends waited and watched for the men to come back from their fishing excursions.
such history...this poem fills the empty void...and has rich emotion.

Jacob, I am so pleased you are back on WC! Thank you for this review. Lydi**
The sailor here is a metaphor for one who has gone through a soul changing experience and now sees life more clearly. Of course, some collide with icebergs during the journey, but even in such disasters there are opportunities for growth.

Indeed, when we stop growing, we stagnate and are not really living. thanks so much, John. Lydi**
The final line of this amazing poem says it all. And I suppose it wouldn't matter if he was a man of the sea or conducting an orchestra. There are things that we rely on to make us happy and fill our hearts with joy...he is that to you. Beautiful Lydi.

Dear Lydi,
This poem is such a complete description of love. It's all about coming home. Returning where the heart belongs. A poem so rich of beauty and feeling. The artwork is lovely too.

Divya, thank you very much. When we feel love, we are home. Lydi**
This was sweet with introspection and expression. I believe we may go staggering our sea-step even once we have reached dry land; trying to ride the waves that no longer exist beneath our feet. Sometimes we long to find ourselves back in our own element where we don't seem like freaks to all the people watching us. And it's not that we are different from them. But we are each accustomed to a different environment. We might as well expect the Aleutian to understand why the Tahitian goes around half-dressed. I enjoyed the read.
