I am a creature of habit. I try not to be predictable, but I like routine and can feel uncomfortable if I am forced outside my comfort zone. If that makes me boring in some people's eyes, so be it. We all have to embrace our secrets, but it is entirely up to us whether we tell anyone else or not. I think we are all a multiplicity of personalities, and we could surprise most people if we told them everything about us. Yes, we can dance with all of those personalities within us, and never ask anyone else to join us in doing that! An incisive, and poetic, piece, Lydi**!

I believe dear Lydia. All of us hold secrets. Best kept private.
"allow me to embrace my secrets
just as they are
with no lacy edges
and no revelations"
I did like the above lines a lot and thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Indeed, privacy is important. Thanks so much, John. Lydi**
Reminds me of the pad thai I had the other day .... instead of just a nice tangy taste this one had some real heat, and it was NOT appreciated. I like my blandness, thanks. ~Jim

A woman who knows her mind. I like the sassiness of this poem. Do what you want and in your own time and your own space. Others have their opinions, you don't have to listen:) Conveyed with directness and sass. Love it Lydi**, and your posted artwork too.

Your life, you live it the way you want to:) Have a lovely Monday dear Lydi**
I love the, "let me do my thing and if you don't like it, kiss off" feel to this one. I might want to be a happy couch potato with hot tea, a fluffy comforter and a good book rather than the height of excitement. It's your right. Great write.

Thanks for understanding my words, Fabian. Being a couch potato is what some people enjoy. Lydi**

I feel the writer is content in her skin, happy in her outlooks, prideful of her secrets. She just wants to live simply, eat her food uniquely, travel the road less traveled.
An excellent poem, art and subject. She needs her personal space you all. Nothing wrong with that.

Thank you not only for the review, but for the understanding, Sami. I appreciate you. Lydi**
Interesting look at a subject that has long fascinated me. Some decry their day to day lives, wishing for some excitement. The speaker here begs to disagree, does not wish to "rush to the precipice." I can agree. Give the thrill seekers a week in Ukraine and they'd give their last dollar for a little peace and quiet.
