there is a place we all seek
a slumber deep and carefree
a place where there is peace
take my hand and follow me
we'll write our own survival guide
with illustrations bright and bold
it will become famous, i tell ya
a part of every modern household!
no timetables will be necessary
no dress code to worry about
we'll feast on carbs and calories
really just chill-out!
no alarm clocks will be ringing
in this place i want to go
we will send invitations
to everyone we know!
we'll float by the moon and stars
with determination strong
giggles will be our currency
we'll sing a happy song!
but all that will have to wait
until a time in another year
you will be there next to me
never doubt it dear!

I want to go too dear Lydia.
no alarm clocks will be ringing
in this place i want to go
we will send invitations
"to everyone we know!
we'll float by the moon and stars
with determination strong
giggles will be our currency
we'll sing a happy song!"
I loved the above lines. We need happy songs. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Me too dear Lydia and you are welcome my dear friend.
What an idyllic place, where there are no timetables, no dress code and just an nvitation to chill out. That is the kind of dream I like. Conveyed so well Lydi** and your artwork blends beautifully with your words. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Have a lovely time.

A delightful dreamscape, penned to perfection through idyllic imagery and metaphor, yes indeed my friend, and don't we all long for that sacred swansong but in the meantime, reality bites and chills like the cold north wind !

As an "understudy" to your poetry... I find a solace where
dreams lie and stillness sighs. The Autumn leaves scurry
on their way and the wind sings on Butterfly wings.
Wishing you the Joy of Chanukah. gently, Pat

This kinda sounds like my current retirement! *wink! wink!* Love the playfulness & imagination thru-out! Humans are so silly about restricting ourselves at every turn! (((HUGS)))

I can only agree and wish for the same things. Though if I could express it as well? Now that is debateable.
