barefoot and wearing my butterfly dress
i spin through the maelstrom of memory
pillow thoughts and peppermints
i squint through the camera lens
seeing only you
your fire melting my ice
ahhhh....reflection
certainly not perfection
nothing added or subtracted
but joy multiplied through the years
magical and yet factual
that was you
tame and wild
and, well....like Goldilocks knew
just right

And those Bears couldn't help but forgive her for her trespasses...
"you can't start a fire without a spark"
Goldilocks was that spark...as was her lover...
and then there was fire.

ah, What a romantic piece this is...great start to my day...thank you, Lydi.

Amazing and beautiful words shared dear Lydia.
"barefoot and wearing my butterfly dress

seeing only you"
I do like the above lines. I do like those bare feet ladies. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Hello dear Lydia and you are welcome my friend.
Beautiful, romantic expression in a poem. You pen this with a light caress as your words celebrate long lasting love. Oh Goldilocks only arrives at her conclusion after tasting the other two bowls lol!

Smiling here. thank you, Pat. Lydi**
It was more about the feeling for me. The poem starts and maintains an air of freshness and is written in a relaxed tone, "butterfly", "peppermint" infused with an mysterious chaos, "maelstrom" "wild". Maybe it represented a mix of feelings when you see someone who you love.

Also noted the Goldilocks reference, and how you seemed to be in a Goldilocks zone with your loved one. "Just right, not too little of sth, not too much of sth".

"Multiplying throughout the years" implies the subject has been with you for a long time, could be dedicated to a life partner

I also liked how MH pointed out in his review below the reference of the butterfly effect and memory. That was deep.
