"ginger scented syntax" love that phrase...
and i would like one of those "how to stay happy" manuals...which definitely would come in as a handy reference these days.
in the second stanza, second line...seems I wanted to put a word in between "time" and "want"--
i think those horses are great as long as they don't buck the words off.

The power of words to heal and comfort have been so relevant to me lately.
My favorite lines,
"so large they cast a colossal shadow
yet so small
they fit in the pocket of my favorite blue jeans", encapsulates their almost magical power so well!
In daunting times reflection of happier times can be such a helpful tool for our mental health. I try to take a break from the news just because there is so much negativity everywhere you can't help but be swallowed up by it. What we're witnessing is such a huge test that we could use more optimism. We're forced to get creative. A strong write Lydia! Definitely enjoyed it

These trying times we all face test us and if its memories we have to keep us going then that's my pockets full. This felt like a small anthem for life as we know it.
What a beautiful perspective to see Lydi, of the treasures of the page and thoughts of the writer as they conjure a world from nothing more than thought, that connects to the very core of you, even becoming you, as you live in their world and give them a purpose to continue their purpose.
I've always had trouble with favourite books, as my mind revolts at the thought that I have yet read it and prefers to hope that each new one brings the possibility and hope of being so.
As ever Lydi, you capture the thought so wonderfully.
Lorry thanks for always being so kind. Another new icon for you, I see! Lydi**

Have changed it as a focus to get back there this year and be inspired with awe at the sights.

Thanks for letting me know what it was....such a pretty photo!
Is the poet speaking here of old correspondence or of the works of a favorite writer? If the latter, I'd like to know the author's name and works. Many of us could use a "how to stay happy manual" during these times.

Though it can fit into the pocket of those old blue jeans, when taken out and opened, like a solar eclipse the coverage is immense and every page to be devoured and savoured, brilliant metaphor, everyone just gotta have their own favourite and personal book, be it whatever your fancy ...

Thanks so much, Tom. Nice to see you on my page. Hope you are well. Lydi**
dear Lydi... your poem is very appropriate for these times of
uncertainty... we keep our pockets full of treasured memories.
The verse ending with "vermillion sunset" rests easy on my soul.
Your poem is like a prayer where moments appear in blue sighs
and a sky with white fluffy clouds with silver light as an omen of
a future that rests easy on our mind. truly, Pat

Thank you very much, Pat. Your words are soft and poetic. Lydi**
I so enjoyed the imagery of the horses in this one Lydi*. Also the contrast between vastness and something so small. The subject of these lines sure knows how to keep life evenly balanced. If you can find that special person that covers all the happy feelings that I picked up in this poem, you have done very well indeed. That's a fine ride you have been on.

Thanks so much, Chris. Yes, I am a lucky lady. Lydi**
What gets me about this wonderful write Lydi is the way it rises and falls into and out of detail. From the sublime to the almost insignificant which is all the more sublime for its placing. As you say we are filled with all these feelings and you have stated it so well.
