i write sentences in the air
hoping you will read them
sure, the dust has gathered on certain memories
but some seem even more polished with time
wooden shoe images
spin on the blades of windmills
i hear you singing in the language of my childhood
i still have trouble thinking of you in the past tense
you were such a force in my life
and even when the universe was blistered
you always knew what to say
          what to do
to make it all feel okay again
mother's day is almost here
my tenth without you
i just want to find shelter between these lines
wear their meaning till the fit is comfortable
then cleanse myself in a fountain of tears
still embracing one undeniable truth
i miss you mommy!

It does seem like the last six weeks have made us stand still. Dates and time have no meaning, but you are right, people in our life, people who have gone but still stay with us daily. This is their time, and ours to say thanks for everything you done for us.

This is a moving tribute to a mother who has passed on. The last five lines especially show the depth of the emotional bond between mother and daughter. We will all leave this place someday, but it sounds as though this lady spent her time here well.
