Dorian is threatening the Sunshine State....all of it! I resurrected and edited an old poem I wrote about Irma.
His abs and pecs are bulging His red feeder bands make my blood run cold Taking bits of pieces of the Caribbean with him He thinks he’s headed straight to our threshold!
He claims his dirty side is not to be messed with They say he’s a daredevil out to conquer our whole state But he doesn’t know who he’s dealing with So listen, Dorian, we need to get a few things straight!
We’ve dealt with Andrew and Wilma David, Charlie, and Irma too You’d make a sharp turn to the east right now If you knew what was good for you!
We’ve got water and batteries ready Our lanterns will light up the streets We’ve got wine, bread, and canned goods And all sorts of delicious treats!
So do a girl a favor and just listen It would be best if you and I never skirmish If you go now and play out in the Atlantic You’d fulfill my fondest wish!
NOTE: And now it is Saturday and things are looking a little better. We will still have Tropical Storm force winds and a lot of rain, but not a direct hit.
Monday Morning....there is an eerie quiet in our neighborhood this morning. someone has left up their wind chimes and i heard them tinkling when i got the paper. the sun is hiding behind gray clouds. anyone with shutters has closed them. there are very few who have the high impact windows like we do. we are still waiting...and waiting. it seems like our lives are on hold. the trees have started moving. dorian is only moving one mile per hour right now. we are out of the cone again, but they say by tonight we should have winds of about 40 MPH here and lots of rain. UGH....this is truly excruciating. oh, now the horizontal rain has started. i will post updates, my friends.

dearest Lydia... what an explosive warning to
Daredevil Dorian. Shiver me Boots... the skeletons
are skirmishing. Never underestimate a Woman
Pirate prepared to fight. You are as bright as a
steak of lightening and as bold as thunder when
storms collide. truly, Pat

Hello, neighbor! :)
That was an interesting weekend of waiting. It seems to me that the storms are getting bigger, that one and last year's storms.

i am a little late in reading this one Lydia .. but I tell you I watched in horror as he pummeled the Caribbean .. and though most unwelcomed ...he so badly overstayed :{ ... your spunk and at the same time a prayer says i .. is full of what has is and will continue to make America the greatest place to live on the planet ... God bless always ... and then to be delivered a less severe but more devastating blow is tragic ... I can't imagine :(((((((((((

:) ................... you bring a needed awareness :((
You say it how it is, Lydi… you 're a right feisty one, you are.. and as ever your words lie as fine as ever.. seems you can make anything read sortable.
Have seen the aftermath of Dorian in and over the Bahamas, feel more than sad for the poor souls there, so many have next to nothing and it'll take ages and more to get things even vaguely normal..
Hope to goodness your coastline doesn't suffer as wildly.. maybe to move over the ocean and stay there. Know its the season for such evil. Still you keep hoping, thinking the way you do. Love and blessings to you your neighbours and everyone in the path of that devil, Dorian. .

Dorian only brought us a little rain and hardly a breeze. The devastation in Abaco and Freeport is heartbreaking. Now the Carolinas are being pummeled. Yes, it is the season. We are prepared and stress levels are high. Thank you for your kind words and your visit. Lydi**
Hoping you have this fella pass right on by Lydi. Love this spirited threat to Dorian as it reads like a letter and I am only hoping he speaks English (American of course)

I've remained glued to the weather channel day and night, watching this monstrosity inching its way closer and closer to the US. You were foremost in my thoughts, as always...and I'll continue to pray for your safety and well being. May God be with those who have suffered Dorian's wrath!

I’m praying for you Lydi! I’m still here in Albany and my neighbors are taking care of my condo in West Palm thank heavens. Your poem is a great warning to this monster Dorian. Here’s hoping that storm backs down and retreats when it hears your words. Take good care my friend! God bless🙏

O'Lydia I would listen to you if I was him!:) I hate to admit it but i love storms and really love sea storms nothing gives me more of an adrenaline rush than to witness a sea storm:/ but a hurricane that would be a bit different and I'm sure i would lose my fervor in having to go thru one and I wish you a safe maelstrom!!!
but i must admit to my morbid fascination with weather anomalies for when i was 10 years old my babysitter was sucked out of her car by a tornado and in spite of the danger I have been known to chase one or two of them... I am a bad bunny after all:)

We only had a light breeze and some rain. We dodged the bullet. I feel terrible for Abaco and Freeport...and now South Carolina!
Fingers, knees and toes crossed for you all. I must remember to stop complaining about the rain. Seems a bit pathetic when we see how bad others get it.
A change of direction would be most welcome.
