a magicA Poem by Lydia Shutterartwork by sergey lutsenko summer had shaken fists full of salt air at us since school let out every night the sun sort of slid under the horizon like an egg sliding off a plate except there was no mess there was only our own brand of perfection spiced with a bit of confusion and let's face it there was a splendiferous harmony to it or so it seemed maybe it was all a pyramid scheme of emotion yet after more sunrises and sunsets than i can even count there's still something there something that isn't a remnant of anything really just something pretty damn close to perfection and totally new yes, a magic that lives in the summer sun
