ah yes!

ah yes!

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

photo taken by me april 2019 from the deck of the nieuw statendam

ah yes!
the unity of the sea and me
combined with the uncluttered vastness of space
the horizon waits patiently out there
the steadfast keeper of my hopes and dreams
iridescent clouds dance in a low hanging sky
the water whispers to me
rocking me into what seems like a dream
and suddenly all is well in my universe
ah yes!

The sea never fails to rejuvenate with its hypnotic rush, it’s dynamism that you beautifully describe here. I loved the symbolism of the horizon for new beginnings and endless new possibilities. Indeed, the sky unites with the water there, so magnificent to the soul. May the sea always send you back with your song of life renewed, dear Lydi.

I love this! Your words are a perfect reflection of your photo. Just as the sea reflects the sky & I love how you present it all as a star-struck puppy who just discovered its reflection in a mirror. I really do feel the joy & release of how this scene is washing over you (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Not often are we treated to a poem that helps us sigh . . . ah yes. Nicely done.

The open ocean is perhaps the most peaceful place on earth. You’ve captured that magic so well here. I can imagine myself on that boat’s stern, catching the cool water on my sunburned face. Spectacular image, too.

The foam of the waves and the dancing clouds are sycopated with dreams
of peaceful places with windmills of cherished memories... as life sings
like tulips along a canal of contentment. I love your view of being a figure head
on a Ship of dreams. truly, Pat

you know what, Lydi...I think you dance with those clouds and make them feel elated enough to stop the raining...
