i notice

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

photography by stefan beutler
on the days when i feel
as shattered as broken glass
in the dust bin of life
and sleep is a foreign country
for which i have no visa
i go through the motions
living in name only
certain no one will notice
yet you are there...noticing
you are the one
rescuing me out of dizzy memories
turning the uneven boundaries of dark thoughts
into ribbons surrounding warmth and sunshine
so i guess you need to know
i notice

Wonderful expression and emotion in these lines Lydi**. I also think your posted image is fabulous. When we are at our most vulnerable, it is a blessing to have someone who is aware of how we feel and who stands over us, minding our backs. Nothing so reassuring.

All good wishes

Chris

A great meditation . . . loved the lines, "and sleep in a foreign country/for which I have no visa." Also appreciated that your allusion to the 'you' who comes to comfort. Leaves it to the reader's imagination. Thanks and congratulations.

So sad and yet so beautiful as the lonliness and the hopefulness mingle in a soft and warm place Lydi!

Indeed I do....I am a lucky one.
It is comforting to have that special someone who
knows enough to notice and hum a familiar tune
from bygone cherished memories... to know
that the ring on your finger will be a symbol that
sleep will come when you hear the heartbeat of
forever love and devotion. truly, Pat

My pleasure my friend, always and true... Have a good week.. N
this is like a haunting black and white film noir....

great pic and illustration of the photo with your words....someone always notices us..even if it is just one person....but we do make a difference even when we think that is not so.
