unwritten and unreadA Poem by Lydia Shutterartwork by hannah robinson last night i heard your aubade in my dreams it serenaded me even as the sun awakened raking the waves you were my prince the one who was to rescue me from between the lines of a well written fantasy but the thread of our thoughts unspooled leaving a knotted mess truth is i've traveled so many miles between then and now but just sometimes when the sun tires tethering afternoon to evening a bittersweet tear finds its way down my cheek and i realize it's truly a crime our last chapter will forever be left unwritten and unread
