I have been absent from your pages far too long & for that, I apologise and true... tho having now found my way back to you, I doubt I shall stray again... and shall be back again in let's say a day or two... your poetry never lets me down, or leaves me disappointed Lydi** and these words are no exception......respect and a gentle hug on the way....... Oh that saddens me...but I love it at the same time!
Tell me how or what did make you write this fervent and deep write? Or I feel this has came out from heart just with flow!
This poem is splendid and the last two lines are spectacular!.... (no sugar I coat, I swear!) :)

Well I shall be thanking you for this one...Thank You Lydi and you're warmly welcome! :)
I've often wondered about how if I turned left instead of right, or left home a little earlier, would things turn out the same.
I expect I would still wake to a beautiful sun, cry the same tears, still be rescued by a prince; and this is where your poem took me, to the wondering of what if? and it is the journey the poet takes the reader on that makes reading poetry so worthwhile.

Is not the last chapter already written long before the first word is penned? I think it is, and I also believe that love is unbreakable no matter the 'miles' traveled.
Delightfully penned Lydia.

so well said Lydia! love the melancholy reminiscing ... all those lovers and friends that we wonder how it might have been ... sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! and don't we all think of them from time to time no matter the time that passes ;) they retain that magick and mystery of fantasy with longing wistful feelings ..nice job says i!

Hello there, E. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice review. Lydi**
I love expanding my vocabulary.
“Aubade” never knew that word existed, but I like it.
I like the 3rd, 6th, and 11th lines the most. The language is unique and “tethering afternoon to evening” is just a really pretty line to me.
I like how you add “unread” to the popular idea of leaving something “unwritten”. It makes the analogy unique and more intriguing, and gives it more substance.
I don’t know anything about romance, but I feel this one and I’ve really enjoyed reading it!

What a lovely review, HL....and I am happy I was able to teach you a new word! Thank you. Lydi**
This is exquisite! Your words spill forth in a tangle, reflecting the way this can feel in real life. I wish to write a story about each one of these tidbits I walked away from too soon. Hopefully I'll get to them all. But in the meantime you've penned the perfect tribute to all the boys I dabbled in *sigh!* You nailed the wistfulness & longing despite knowing full well this path cannot be taken (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

You totally understood, Margie. Thank you so much. Lydi**
The only thing sadder than last chapters unwritten, are the reminders we receive of them, through thoughts and dreams, yet they can also be a blessing, reminding us of better times before they unspool.
Beautifully written Lydi, as always.
