I sense a moment of looking back and reminiscing fondly but with a long and accustomed acceptance of the inevitable.... I've had a few such moments myself, as I'm sure most do... and yes, they never fail to draw a sigh and smile or two...... characteristically beautifully crafted my dear friend........ Neville

Thanks so much, Neville. I always appreciate your lovely reviews. Lydi**
A wonderful story in the poetry dear Lydia. All of us need a romantic place and some late night dancing. I liked the feel of the words. Romantic and very sweet. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

I loved your work today and you are welcome dear Lydia.
“Still worth” is a fitting title for this contemplative poem Lydi. Great metaphor, imagery, rhythm, first person narration style and form with indented pauses and punctuation left for the reader to determine. First verse describes the stunted growth and ‘murder’ of a relationship ‘ending up a chalk outline on a sidestreet of life”-brilliant line. Second verse redeems it for its remembered passion, sensuality, romance- “Still worth”-yes, absolutely.

Such a splendid review. Thank you, Annette! Lydi**
a pulsating promise of perhaps - how good is that! Some romances are destined to fail, but they can still evoke some happy memories and a smile years later. Lovely work Lydi
Your perfectly stated scenario reminds me of the kind of guy we leave, then we see him much later on & he’s lookin’ so good, we’re tempted to go sniffing around again. Hopefully we’ve learned that lesson. I love your description of how this situation starts off bad & doesn’t get any better – these are classic lines of clever understatement! Sometimes it’s just a slow oppressive crush that snuffs out all vivacity & you’ve painted your word portrait with originality (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

what an exquisite choice of words and this poem is so replete with them. Sometimes a love does not last yet it never fails to leave something special to remember. Moments of bliss once shared, now gone, yet their scent lingers on. The heat dissipates, the warmth lingers on. Thanks for such beautiful poetry, dear Lydi.

Divya, thank you for understanding my words and your lovely review. Lydi**
Your poetry leaves us in sighs and smiles indeed. Some things or relationships are still worth the try albeit prospects of failure. Work is needed to sort out things in life as through the journey. Marvleous.
"it was a relationship based on the suspicion of failure
and a pulsating promise of perhaps
yet it hyperventilated and died a prolonged death
ending up a chalk outline on a sidestreet of life"
Your poetry always elicits a heavy sigh from me, Lydi. Your metaphors here simply speak for themselves with a most thunderous applause!

A poet with the pen of Ms. Fisher mysteries... "ending up a chalk outline on the side street of life"...
An adolescent eternity and still worth a heavy sigh and a smile. Those were the days when a "crush" was not an "orange freeze" that froze your brain. Romance was total commitment to the moment of eternity.
Too soon we age as others pass away. truly, Pat

A love that once was so thriving has died and withered away leaving the ash remains and sighs and of those happy memories. Lovely as always. Enjoyed it.
