no rhyme no reason

no rhyme no reason

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

no rhyme

no reason

long raindrops see-saw on the window

palm fronds breathe a sigh of relief

released from the sauna of the day

stars smile on night owls

and i watch

remembering the poetry of your face

like a window into a world of art

a world bursting in brilliant hues

a world waiting to paint my colorless rooms

and so it did

and really still does

with no rhyme

                                no reason

You can turn any moment, into a moment of gracefulness and gratitude, the mystical feelings of love, those feelings that raise our senses, burst our hesrts, flowing our ink... how gorgeously You've painted one of these moments, how sensitively and yearningly You've said it all, how Your feelings come into free words with no rules, just written, as Your heart whispers them to You. another splendid piece of beauty, Thank You*

Love the image! Exhale and be the moment...see, feel, remember...you are there. A delicate whisper of a poem with intricate form, repetition and lovely flowand cadence. Imagery mesmerizes-“palm fronds breathe a sigh of relief” and so do we as we read your lyrical words..”remembering the poetry of your face”- brilliant. Brava my friend!

I drew in my breath at the first line and didn't exhale fully till the last line, the way you marvelously build and culminate a thought. You created a poetic master piece again, so effortlessly and yet so elegantly.

Divya, you are so kind. Thank you very much! Lydi**
Hi Lydia, This was a colorful piece! It sounds to me that your day dreaming out the window had plenty of rhyme and reason. I enjoyed every word I read! However, in this piece and some of your other pieces you're a bit light on punctuation. Poetry needs it too. I'm simply passing that on to you from an old friend writer of mine that told me the same. LOL! Best wishes I love your style!

You have a knack for marrying just the right illustration with the delivery of your words. I adore the black and white photography, and the "see-saw of raindrops" that offer up an indelible image. Oh, and THOSE lips...utterly intoxicating!

Beautiful. It needs no rhymes for its made its reason known. There's no reason for something to be beautiful, after all. I love this.

I love how this is short and sweet (and without rhyme or reason) but still gets the job done in an efficient way (creating a visual for the reader and telling a story). I love it but I love rhyme as well lol

We are fortunate if we can recall such a love, my friend. Thank you so much for the review. Lydi**
Wording, flow, word choices, and just over all feel of this poem are all a big hit. This is a great piece, and one that I think will be read for quite a long time. I know that it's pieces like this that remind me why it's so rewarding to be doing this. Great job.
