vibrantA Poem by Lydia Shutterartwork by
hessam abrishami the
colors were more vibrant then stars sat
on the horizon twinkling just for us the wind
put wheels on palm fronds allowing
us to drive to who knew or who cared where every
moment was an adventure you were
my sustenance through
so many mouth-watering days and nights the
florescent glow of a gas station’s neon sign served as
a lighthouse leading
us to the next wonderful experience the next
memory to be made you were
perpetual motion i
was insatiable energy looking
back i can see it all clearly we were
stowaways on a derailed dream but
it was our dream we made
everything out of nothing truth is even
though it had to end i wouldn’t
have wanted it any other way © 2017 Lydia ShutterFeatured Review
