as i navigate the winding staircase of life

you continue to save me from what i’d prefer not to know

and walk me gently through things i need to learn

your eyes send a telegram to every inch of me

replacing meaninglessness with tangible desire

the poetry of your face

is not hidden behind those whiskers

those whiskers that could easily tickle me deliciously

truly, you dealt me a straight of hearts

just when i thought i was about to lose it all

and the pleasure in that moment

made everything worthwhile

We all need that guiding hand, that trusted love that never really denies escape into experiences, thoughts, decisions.. that might not be absolute or worthy but express Self. That other being knows what makes one tick, forgives, sighs and waits yet more to hug, to hold, and.. to make everything worthwhile.
