piquantA Poem by Lydia Shutterartwork by charmaine olivia i
inhale your memory like the salty sea air of morning my
mind’s eye jumps from engagingly stimulating moments to your provocative charm to your savory appeal you
were an addiction just like my
smokes and drink but
now it’s too late to rewrite history expletives
roll off my tongue even as i remember your flavor i
savor the memory the zesty spice of you a
piquant ambrosia that seemed unattainable even unmanageable
at first then
billowed like a sail on the day we said goodbye © 2017 Lydia ShutterFeatured Review
