forevermore

forevermore

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

photography by ilya rashap

was it his quiet intelligence drawing me further into his arms?

perhaps....

was it his discerning sensuality that seduced me?

possibly...

all that is certain is a constellation of butterflies

in varying shapes and sizes swam through my veins

revolving and then spinning like multicolored divas

repeatedly whispering his name in pitch perfect harmony

when i awakened from the remnants of my dream

the effervescence of stars danced upon my tongue

            that’s why

the pockets of my jeans are blissfully filled

with the magic of romantic moons

overflowing with the scent of his cologne on my pillow

cascading memories of the morning after the night before linger

                        right there…

tickling the spot on my hip that belongs to HIM

forevermore

dear Lydia... a constellation of butterflies ... revolving and then spinning like multicolored divas repeatedly whispering his name in pitch perfect harmony... The pockets of my jeans are blissfully filled with the magic of romantic moons... I can experience it all from the deck of a ship on the high seas of a dream. I hold these lines
as tangible proof that life is delectable.
truly, Pat

LOVE THIS! It opens with something that I've always been turned on by -- intelligence (hardly ever addressed in sensual writings). I love reading just the italicized phrases together -- nice touch. The butterflies swimming in your veins passage is so imaginative, I'm super jealous of the way you can let your mind run so free & wild. There isn't one word here that's cliché.

Well Lydia, it's Wednesday the 18th and this one is still as warm and enticing as freshly baked bread.
I almost wanted to sniff that pillow myself.
I think he left an eco-friendly temporary tattoo on her hip (read: a hickey).
Wonderfully sensual piece.

Most Welcome Lydi** :)
When you write like this, Lydi, you meld earthiness to soft magic, surreal glances gazing at sensual activities that yes, butterlflies display as they flutter-flit from flower to flower.. their wings trembling with absolute delight. Have seen and heard the sounds of them, resting once their sweet greed is laden with pleasure!

Dear goodness how you inspire pictures in the mind! Naughtily delightful,

'when i awakened from the remnants of my dream

the effervescence of stars danced upon my tongue

that’s why '

This romantic piece should be filmed simply by showing her face and a voice over speaking the beautiful words.
