your title and pic make so much sense to me ... those moments shared with no one ..but more precious because of it .. then the sea, the beach, and organic sweep of seaweeds ... even our vast oceans have roots eh!? ... i just keep re-reading my friend .. :) seems you strike a very distinct edge between the encompassing glory of sunrise and oceans ...with your closing lines .. selfish ;) but too golden and private not to be .. really like your poem ... each time read again .. beautiful says i!

She is a 40's pinup girl....and even if she is eating brains, she looks sexy! :)
Cathartic and theraputic and of course pleasurable. Thats enough about the poem lets talk about playing on the beach, (and you know I like to do that).

You've definitely conveyed the sparkling joy of a beach sunrise (I feel sorry for those not located near a coastline!) I love it when I see something in nature that's ONLY FOR ME . . . very cherished enjoyment. There's a tiny hint of Jacob here . . . "Just as the sun combs clouds out of her sky" (reminds me of the way he word-plays). As always, graceful visual & full of feeling.

“For only me, I smile…” And that is sure to put a big smile on the reader’s face, I know it did mine. We all make our own happiness and when we do it spills over to everyone in our breathing (or reading) space. Nothing like a morning walk on the beach to wash off the dark and bathe us in optimism. It's a beautiful day and beautiful poetry, Lydi.

The morning sunrise and that too on the beach really, no one can miss such a rare morning sight. I agree No one can see for only me, when I smile on such a sunny morning. Great poem as always Lydi**
in reply to the note: it's a wonderful time indeed, sand tickling toes, pastel sky painting caressing eyes and the awe of the breeze across the face, just a few things I remember walking the Gulf side beach a couple of times when visiting my folks...
I really loved this poem Lydi, you create a peace and ease of mind that you write into words and allow us to feel it as well as we read.. I had to smile at the : "Just as the sun combs clouds/ out of her sky/I shed layers of darkness"... more than just lovely, but filled with the release needed when we are burdened with pain and such morning walks on the beach watching the sunrise over the water bringing in a new dawn, cleanses such darkness.. great metaphor her Lydi as you allow us to feel that smile begin to emerge on your lips... it's almost like watching a young girl playing tags with the waves and giggling...
anyway one of your "very "nicest" of poems Lydi.. one that I will read and re-read often... thank you
