labyrinth

labyrinth

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

lost in the labyrinth of you

a prisoner in a system of passionately illuminated tunnels

and catacombs of sensuality

segments of your puzzle seduce me

as you gently slide each piece into provocative locales

a kaleidoscope of intimacies streaks into view

i breathe in the allure that is you

while cradled in the center of it all

veiled in a universe of almost surrealistic ecstasy

feeling more liberated than i ever dreamed possible

through your maze of temptation i continue

certain the exit is not my destination

my goal will not be reached

till I have cocooned deeply into your soul

"til I have cocooned deeply into your soul" ...
I feel as though I have been on a cruise to
exotic islands where soft winds blow and
passions flow. The taste of a persimmon
ripened by the sun. The most intimate
revelation to be savored. truly, Pat

Ever the romantic. Some of your writing reminds me so much of my mother, the original Valentine. Valentine

I concur that the ending is the most riveting and powerful statement in this piece. A beautiful testament to love.

lost in a labyrinth of you, love this line lydia. It opens and explains how we discover our partners over time like a book that never ends or as you say tunnels to explore as one door opens another opens. lovely, lovely poem.

The master of metaphysical poetry Englishman John Dunne circa 17th century would be proud to put his name to this oh so sensual soliloquy of yearning desire and devotion!

Kudos to your flowing pen Lydia !

'Labyrinth' is not just an amazing write, it is also a maze of perfectly strung words that compel the reader to read on. Another absolutely splendid creation from one of my favour-write poets here on WC....Wish I was your pen Lydi..............N
