Thoughts, emotions, memories and images can often suface simultaneously at the most inopportune of times and form an eclectic mix of creativity .... So prudent to have a pen and notepad handy to jot down these forming ideas into stellar words before they quickly evaporate into the ether!
Yes, they never wait till we reach a pen and remain a fantasy many a time. The way you made the parts of speech dance around is wonderful.
I still feel many poets' best poetry remains a fantasy as the real beauty of emotion that goes in the brain may never be put appoprriately because words as well as a language have their own limitation.
Very few can justify their thought by bringing out poems like you.
Thanks for this beautiful write........
Keep sharing.....
in modern day poetry Lydia, with it's rational-emotional-confessional mix, it is pointless
to separate fantasy from hurt; true weariness from poesy. We just know that there is pleasure,
somewhere, between the lines in it's organizational makeup of verb, adverb and proper noun.
"Poetry makes the events you just read true" someone once told me in a poetry class. And i guess that's true.........lovely writing as usual/ dana

What a fantastic quote...and it applies here. Thank you, Dana. Lydi**
you know Lydi they always say that poetry is the words seen, written down, that creates the magic of a poem and gives it its definition.... I think this is mostly a true thing.... a word painting and creativity... but I think too and at times even more importantly it is what is not said that allows for the imagination to run wild in a poem, to feel the fantasy and emotion, and to only be seen in between the lines... it is here where art is created and it is here where you allow us to seen with our own eyes the meaning(s) of your poetry Lydi... it is often that in between the lines if where poetry actually comes alive... your poetry Lydi is always alive with imagination, fantasy and creativity and we who read are given the best treat of all... ART...

of course Lydi, stick figure art is like pantomime... ;0)
'.. jigsaws through my brain ~ need to get it on paper ~ before it flies into never never land ~ and has an affair with peter pan~ or burns .. '
I wonder .. the love of words and the daring to write them out; seeing the bits between the lines that perhaps. even the writer wasn't fully aware of? or daren't admit to. Maybe as we age we're less conscious of thoughts being misrepresented or misunderstood... but then, who cares, only us!
Your use of words is always elegantly and cleverly set, Lydi... you hint, you drape and leave the reader to see the pose and ... smile, nodding! As to that picture.. perfect.. says me, waving the smoke away!

Emma, your reviews are special to me. Thank you so much. Lydi**
the trivia that is our lives...the memories, the relationships, and then the words that we fail to get down on paper to scratch out the answers...i like the sensuality of the parts of speech trying to make love...and yet the speaker is having such a hard time getting into it....as if she can't get into the physical act...or the mental act of getting the words in order enough to bed them down on the keyboard.
Between the lines, reality takes shape. Time materializes for action. Thoughts burn and light up. Emotions are decoded. Heavy weights are lifted up. That is what I'm inspired to write when I read this wonderful poem....:)............
