cut through

cut through

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

photography by ilya rashap

invisible fence posts define our boundaries

my lips quiver as i tread precariously near the precipice

your arm brushes mine

i see your eyes check my reaction

my thoughts weave through yours

my fingers yearn to touch you right

there

my tongue traces the silvered mouth of the soda can

knowing only you will quench my thirst

boundaries be damned

i cut through the fence

Now isn't this an erotic piece! Phew!!

And here my first impression was that you were writing about a sugar lust!
This is a very alluring piece of writing. Hidden thoughts, careful side glances, sensual urges to take the leap....ideas and feelings that anyone with a secret admiration for someone could relate to completely. And the devouring of the soda just illuminates the idea.

I don't think i can look at a can of coke the same way again! :)
Very well written!

Powerful. Full of passion yet subtlety applied. The final stanza is so well portrayed and imaginable.

Ahem. Now this is in a loosening of the collar and fanning oneself class of its own.

It never ceases to amaze me how many different ways you can craft a sensual message! I think teetering on the boundary for a good long bit of teasing is one of the sexiest aspects of spending time together. I guess that's the beauty of being older . . . slowing sucking that hard candy to make it last, instead of biting into it & having it gone too soon . . . *smile*

Every day CAN be romantic....in poetry! :) Thanks so much, KL. Lydi**
An attraction can be a dubious situation...
sending caution to the wind... brushing arms
with the romance of his or her charms...
truly, Pat
