some things

some things

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

some memories have vanished now

dropped out of the hole in the pocket of my denims

the ones you said were ready for the trash

all those years ago

i sit here trying to animate the phrases

remembering the silences….their warmth

picturing your smiling eyes loving me from across the room

recapturing your voice through a flashback’s ears

and that smile….the one that lit up my world

yes!

but the truth is seeds of inspiration

have run outside to play in the puddles

they know it is impossible to write you

write us

the way it really was back then

so for now I will just say

i miss you!

some things never really change

So true but really our loved ones are still watching us from somewhere & still they are deeply in love with us and showering blessings for us through God. Loved the photo way much and also the depthness of your words. Thanks Lydia sharing a beautiful memory of your life :) Bless you!

So beautiful lydi... love the photo :)
the poem speaks of your unconditional love for your dad ...
all girls adore their dads more than words can say..
as you have adorably said :"they know it is impossible to write you
write us" .....oh i miss my dad too ..reading this brought tears in my eyes ... he now resides in the world of stars.. but yes even if they go ,their memories are always close to our hearts :)
thanks for sharing this beautiful poetry! god bless you!

Here is memory imbued with charm, grace, the kind of words that Dad's DNA would come to love.

You are so kind, Al. Thank you. Lydi**
yes.... I can see his smiling eyes, they reflect in yours Lydi.. and perhaps some memories have been lost, but the important ones remain and like magic they still "inspire"... and both of your smiles say in that special way, "oh yes, maybe we weren't supposed to, but we jumped in those puddles anyway"... and sometimes the biggest and best of these memories are found in the "I miss you"... you cannot miss someone who doesn't live in your heart... and this will always "never change"...

You're welcome. It's a beautiful picture too.
Ary fitting tribute to your dad on Father's Day. I can sense the power of his effect and presence in your life and how it changed things along the way. I'm pretty sure he is so proud of that relationship you all had...Excellent...:)............
