Our Love

Our Love

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

Oh moon and stars

I beseech you

open your samovar of sparkle

allow this night to lounge a while longer

permit my blonde tendrils to tangle with the hair on his chest

for a few more moments

I fervently plead

                        here I am

                                rosy cheeked and sanguine

sanction our rendezvous with your celestial light

that this night shall last

till 100 tomorrows have evanesced

for nothing is truly ours but this moment and our love

I missed this one too, I hope am not repeating my reviews. I have a tendency of re-reading your poems and not knowing whether i have read them earlier. This is good, very good lyd. Sometimes we wish good moments never end but they have to so we can experience new moments. Bad moments should never last a second though

Gorgeous!!! So beautiful, tender, filled with love and the desire for it to last, to hang on to the moment.
I really like this one a lot!

Thanks so much, KL. Lydi***
dear Lydi, having Samovar tea on a European cruise
is ecstasy heated under a million stars...
Moments to savor until eternity calls...
Sensually romantic. truly, Pat

Beauty at it's depth. It seems that when poetry is kind of hard to read it's more beautiful. Not hard to read in a bad way but a good way. To me your poem is a great example of what i'm talking about. Loved your write, keep up the great work!

LOVE THIS! I'm crazy about anything lunar & I love imagining "blonde tendrils tangled with the hair on his chest." Too many favorite phrases, I might have to keep quoting: "samovar of sparkle" . . . and of course, the final statement is so true about everything in life, reminding us to live in the moment. Very playful as this paints visions in my imagination!

Thank you for the wonderful review, Barley. Visions SHOULD be painted when you read poetry. Lydi**
A most touching piece that gears the mind to soft attributes without speaking down to the reader, well done, good read.

A beautiful use of words. Serene and eloquent.
Your words have made that night "eternal"

A night as this should never end! Your choice of words is ever so fitting for the plea you make to the moon and stars. I can just "see" the glow of love in the face, and in the fire down below! LOL
Just lovely!.......makes me feel warm and bubbly inside!
