ever-changing palette

ever-changing palette

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

‘tis an opulent portrayal

of sensual fantasies you offer

lavishly accurate to the dreamy detail

self control sashays wantonly

in this resplendent world

and i,  but a chameleon,

delight in altering my hues

to suit the ever-changing palette

 of you

Simply delightful and wonderfully composed. The use of 'colour' as an expression of one's personality is not only very insightful but also imaginative - it is easier for people to imagine colours than the complexity of personality and this metaphor really helps to bridge this gap. Furthermore, you've extended the use of 'colour' even further, using the metaphor of a Chameleon to express changing yourself to suit others. Simply sublime.

this may be my favorite from you, the alliteration...the chameleon changing hues..adapting to the lover...and being the English teacher, you have to love the "dreamy detail."
