ever-changing palette

ever-changing palette

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

‘tis an opulent portrayal

of sensual fantasies you offer

lavishly accurate to the dreamy detail

self control sashays wantonly

in this resplendent world

and i,  but a chameleon,

delight in altering my hues

to suit the ever-changing palette

 of you

Simply delightful and wonderfully composed. The use of 'colour' as an expression of one's personality is not only very insightful but also imaginative - it is easier for people to imagine colours than the complexity of personality and this metaphor really helps to bridge this gap. Furthermore, you've extended the use of 'colour' even further, using the metaphor of a Chameleon to express changing yourself to suit others. Simply sublime.

Such a beautifully penned right. Good use of alliterations: Dreamy Detail being my favorite. Again you invoke such lovely images in your write. How nicely have you used colors as the metaphor for emotions. And they are never constant. So true. Chameleon, delight altering hues, ever changing palette. These two lines are the stars of this write and they give a splendid closure to the poem. I enjoyed this write immensely Thank you for sharing ^^

dear Lydi, it is in giving that we receive.
It is romantic to color our world with
overtures of roses and embraces of
scented love. Your poetry is brushed
with hues of passionate pallet phenomenon.
truly, Pat

I'm not sure what this all means, but surely there is a cosmic meaning of this today esp. Today I have been enjoying just being.... I am cleaning my room and spending time on myself and playing with my wardrobe and accessories. I was also seeing how I would like to change the ribbon cloth on my straw hats and personalize them with my own colors and prints... Your comments of reviews and this just completes my wonderful day i am having.
This is a veyt rare day for me and your thoughts and your Beautiful presence that you always shine of makes it all the more special for me. Thank You Lydia for coloring my world...

There just "ain't no" sticking to the same old, same old thing with a frolic in the paintbox to create a mindset as this! Self control is way overrated, throw caution to the wind and play with a box of crayons, no less than 64 colors for certain including perhaps hot tamale red, midnight black, jivin' indigo, strawberry red with white whipped cream.......oh, how yummy, just like your creation!
And the black and white image certainly gives the reader the opportunity to color the palette as they choose!
Love this one..........but, heck I love all of yours, especially the "oooh, la la " ones!!
