vibrant

vibrant

A Poem by Lydia Shutter

i’ve painted it all for you in vivid colors
no pastels or muted tones here
listen for the gentle echo of fingertips on keys
subtleties are not in attendance here
nor are they welcome
coffee house napkins become origami in just the “write”light
can you feel them doing a salsa grind?
crimson stained paper cups
elicit all sorts of connotations
this ain't no java jive
take a sip
don’t be shy
tell me what you see
this is the art of my life
and it's yours to share
so please take my hand now
let me take you sailing
through my vibrant sky

Jim said it, "jump right off the page" grabing you by the hands and shows you how to "sail/ through my vibrant sky"... no pastels, prime colors, primeval "connotations" and and and my "nice" sigh... Lydi I want some of what you are drinking, just a small sip from that "crimson stained paper cup"... some zooming expresso "write" to your poem... that's a double "nice"... thanks Lydi..

Lydi, Listen for the gentle echo of fingertips on keys...
gliding through the sky where clouds are dreams
Oragami birds fly in sunlit beams...
A vibrant sky with just the "write" light. truly, Pat

I like the contrast of the words with the image, take me from the coffee shop into your vibrant imagination and world of love. A lovely write.

I appreciate your review, Divya. Thank you. Lydi**
your poetry is so vibrant, Lydi...and you remind me of just how many poems i wrote on napkins, especially during all those years working in the restaurant...

and yes, i write them because i have to, but share them because that is what we do...we share our art with others and hope we give them something worthwhile...you always do.
