love lives

a poem i repost on valentine's day each year

love lives

in a room without doors

a room redecorated daily

no need to straighten 

those brightly colored paintings on the walls

there is a certain loveliness to their asymmetry 

a romantic paradox as it were

passageways lead to and from this room

but no one is quite sure if they are a means of escape

or a route to romance

personally

i want to stay in this room always

where laughter is true

dreams are treasured

and poetry blossoms

i like the first lines of the poem, but i don't think that the second stanza does the first stanza justice - this is only my opinion

Overall, enjoyable read, but in spots, very interesting & thought-provoking. "in a room without doors" brings so much to mind about have a welcoming spirit . . . "redecorated daily" brings to mind the way the curve balls just keep on comin'. I love that you take the time to select words for maximum meaning & impact. I like the way your poem sounds original.

Yeah, but 95% of the "original" valentine poems sound a lot like the other million poems written on this familiar topic. To actually SOUND ORIGINAL is a rare accomplishment for love poems.
