the evening wraps me in thunderous echos of what once was guiding winds lead me to the tunnel of years ‘tis true this is the true museum of unequaled cave paintings which can only be interpreted by multicolored velvety waves of memory but they dare not pass go or collect $200- even because in the here and now even savory multicolored memories are harshly converted to monochrome bland
A lovely write. Wonderfully used metaphors throughout. "even savory multicolored memories,
are harshly converted, to monochrome bland" what a very imaginative and exquisitely apt description. There are countless thoughts this can bring together into this one poem, from things like a very precious memory fading to serious problems such as Dementia. Though you may not have done this on purpose and many people might think little of it, I love the use of a 'cave' and Monopoly - something really old and something relatively new (long term memory and short term memory etc). A wonderful piece.

No problem Lydi, glad to be able to read your work and express my thoughts.
You gave life to Anne Darling's photography - and light, to this poet!
Perhaps it's just me, but "monochrome" isn't such a bad state to be in. I find it quite lovely, actually.

Thank you so much, Kelly. Sometimes monochrome is a good place to hide. Lydi**
wow, I love this piece....
love that phrase, "monochrome bland"---
yes, that museum in our hearts and minds is so special...the only place for the memories...where they will be stored and savored...can't put a price on them.

Indeed, they are priceless. Thank you so much, Jacob. Lydi**
'tunnel of years ' and 'the true museum/of unequalled cave paintings' - what great metaphors for our mind of memories...they remain in the past, each one fading to monochrome the further away we get from them, never to see the light of day...great writing, Lydi...
ps....also enjoyed the little comic relief in the Monopoly reference :)
