a what could have been poem - about someone the subject writes with care, like walking on eggshells, careful not to disturb the memory - what and how it perceives the relationship with the beloved - a sad kind of comfort - like waves washing over one's feet on sand and stones - the absence of the beloved is haunting and says it all, but it leaves the lover hanging, because the lover can't let her feelings go for the beloved - thank you, lydia, for sharing this with us :)
I stumbled upon this and what a lovely gushy write

Sometimes we need to "admit failure"; but I feel far too often we assign the meaning of failure when expectations were not met. Our expectations or our perceptions of others expectations set us up to create meanings without power to fill our soul with gratitude.
I love the picture... Beautiful woman in a perfect cityscape. If only... Yet there was something, wasn't there?
Touching write.

"still, I hold your hand
between the lines of my poetry"
and the last few lines...
"you hold me even when you are not here
and that's why I lie a little to myself"
"refusing to admit failure
every time I write
about you"
It is so hard to forget that someone, who made you feel something that feels so good. And the expectation that time heals all wounds -- I don't believe that for a minute. Some things never heal.
I love this write so, so much.

You're welcome! Let me know when you've figured a way to kick them out! Hehe.
In my opinion, it's a wonderful description of passion being felt only through the poem itself and the poem being the sanctuary that brings the lovers together.
Thank you for a well done write.
Insight.
