Immortalize me

Immortalize me

A Poem by Lydia Shutter
"

it's Friday night!

"

artwork by Emmanuel

My fantasies plead to be etched
into your libido forevermore

just as Plato begged
to be immortalized by Socrates

Quench your thirst here and now my darling
yes…at the deep well of my desire
tell me in a throaty whisper
this is the tastiest libation you’ve ever sampled
while furious touches and spicy tastes

perform a stately saraband on the muscles of your chest
my silhouette will shimmer

in the flickering candlelight

Come...allow your anxious lips

to magically melt into my ivory skin
watch as our shadows become one
pleasure exquisitely simmering
                                then boiling over
believe it…the only truth is our passion

Indeed, the winds of reality
will dare to blow once more
but they have no place here
immortalize me
on this…our wondrous night

Love sublime!--can be savored; often, I have found, when unplanned and least expected.
Few have portrayed it better, Lydi.
An enchanting offering!

It was my pleasure to be able to read your words.
Oh, if only every night could be a friday night!

The women in these sultry vignettes portray the aggressor, and I like that! It speaks in the tongue of Cleopatra for me, by no other than Elizabeth Taylor!

Such a delight, Lydi!

' .. to magically melt into my ivory skin - watch as our shadows become one .. '

You know, Lydi, you could save the global population's heating bills with poetry like this! And yet, this poem is immensely elegant and somehow wisely phrased - maybe sincerity plays the strongest part. Don't know but ..tis special.

Have a wonderful birthday weekend, Julie! Thanks for the review. Lydi**
Fabulous piece of work! The first stanza sucks the reader in, and then
you really take it from there, wording is great and the imagery to
match, really enjoyed this piece! Thanks for sharing and b-blessed!
