i'll miss youA Poem by Lydia Shutteri try to digest the moment soft and silent but volatile shadows held up
by marble bookends grab my attention like yellowed newspapers with
words from another time and place their headlines cannot be
swept away easily all the mundane mondays wistful wednesdays thoughtless thursdays sanguine saturdays gang up on me i taste the air of grief but this time it is different almost surrealistic humming “sunday will never be
the same” salty emotions proliferate i ask the unanswerable you left your pain behind and
now it haunts us hey, you lived and died as
you wanted but there is little comfort
in that trying to transmit my
emotions through space i’ll miss you but you knew that
